Institutional Relationship Map

This is an interactive visualisation of Chennai’s institutional structure as it operates in practice with respect to land use, waste management and water in the city. The structure represents a combination of a variety of relationships between different public agencies with respect to their day-to-day operations as well as larger planning processes.

Disclaimer: The visualisation has been developed using data collected through interviews and workshops conducted with officials from public agencies working in Chennai as part of our work in the project titled ‘A Platform for Integrated Governance in Metropolitan Chennai: Developing Resilience Scenarios and Strategies through Participatory Simulations’ in collaboration with CUBE at IIT-Madras and Okapi India.
